Day-9 of Leslie Saeta's "30paintings in 30 days Challenge" 

Chinese ink painting on watercolor paper 12"x10" from a photo of a cat who is dreaming away luxuriously with his eyes closed, a totally black faced one except for the nose. I ran a wet sponge on the paper and when it was still a little wet, ran the chinese sumi-e brush and ink on it.The black ink spreads beautifully along the edges suggesting the thick fur of the cat. Sumi-e paintings are to be done on the special translucent Chinese/Japanese rice paper meant for these paintings, but I use cartridge or WC paper.
